ABOUT
CHILDREN’S
ORTHODONTICS

Orthodontics | For children

While there is no exact age for children to begin orthodontic treatment, the Australian Society of Orthodontists recommends visiting the orthodontist at around age 7. By this age most children have a mix of baby teeth and adult teeth, making it easier for the orthodontist to diagnose and correct tooth and jaw problems sooner, and without surgery.

WHY HAVE TREATMENT?

Early detection, monitoring and treatment.
Prevent more serious problems from developing and reduce the complexity and cost of treatment, later in life.

EARLY DETECTION

Early treatment achieves the best results.

The sooner problems can be identified and evaluated by your orthodontist the sooner an appropriate treatment plan can be discussed with you. Your child’s treatment may not start right away but planning their care is equally as important. Orthodontic treatment for children can be staged to achieve the best results and will depend on the eruption of adult teeth and how fast they are growing.

GROWTH + GUIDANCE

Our Growth Guidance Program puts you ahead.

To help parents make informed decisions at the right times, Medland Orthodontics has introduced a Growth Guidance Program for children between 7-12 years. Rest easy that you will always be informed about the health of your children’s teeth and, with Dr Medland, determine the best treatment plan for your child.
