Understanding The Invisalign Provider Tiers
Let’s start with the basics! ‘Invisalign Providers’ are Orthodontists, Orthodontic Practices, Dentists, Dental Practices, and other approved professionals whom offer Invisalign Clear Aligner treatment. Each time a patient begins an Invisalign Clear Aligner treatment (or ‘case), Invisalign awards one… let’s call it a ‘point’. You can probably see where this is going. The Invisalign Provider Tiers are a tally (or sorts) that group Providers into six groups based on the number of treatments each year.
When a Provider reaches the minimum number of cases for the next tier in a single calendar year, they’re awarded their new tier as a badge of honour of that year – this works with both upgrading and downgrading of tiers.
At the start of every year, the count begins again and each provider needs to earn their tier for that year. That means you might come across some Providers who were a Platinum Invisalign Provider one year (eg. 2019), a Diamond Invisalign Provider the next (eg. 2020), then a Platinum Elite Invisalign Provider (eg. 2021), and so on.
While the tier of any one year is a good indication of the number of Invisalign Clear Aligner patients seen, the more significant metric is to look at the bigger picture over a number of years. An increased number of Invisalign cases in one year doesn’t necessarily mean that Provider achieves a better end result, however, a consistent upward trend over a number of years does indicate that that Orthodontist, Orthodontic Practice, Dentist, or Dental Practice is spending more time with the Invisalign Clear Aligner solution.
Much like most skills in life, the more time you spend with something, the better your skills get with it.

How Clear Invisalign Braces Really Work
Firstly, your one of our Gold Coast based Orthodontists will scan your teeth with a 3D camera. A 3D model of your teeth is then created to show you what your teeth look like now and how they’ll look at the end of your treatment.
Then, a series of virtual models are printed that show your teeth moving fractions of millimeters at a time to create your beautiful new and straight smile.
You’ll receive your first set of clear aligners and start your treatment. Depending on your unique orthodontic needs, your treatment can last anywhere from 6 to 24 months (in most cases, however, highly complex cases can extend well beyond 24 months!). Each pair of aligners is changed every 1 to 2 weeks.
It’s that straight forward!
Change Your Smile with Invisalign
Invisalign, as you can see, comes with a long list of incredible benefits. Some may be small, but others are big enough to take patients who are frightened of orthodontic treatment and convert them.
Let’s take a quick look at some more benefits of clear braces.
- There’s nothing embarrassing about straightening your teeth, but you don’t always want people to know you’re undergoing treatment. Clear braces ensure you keep things on the down-low while you enjoy a comfortable treatment.
- Speaking of comfort, one of the major pitfalls of braces is just how harsh they can be on the inside of your mouth. They can rub your cheeks and tongue raw. Invisalign’s smooth plastic aligners do not cause abrasions.
- You can take the aligners out when you want to. You’ll need to keep them in for at least 22 hours a day, but you can still remove them to enjoy your favourite meals and practice optimal oral hygiene.
- You know what you’re getting. When your Gold Coast orthodontist scans your mouth, we create a map of your orthodontic anatomy. We then create custom aligners for every stage of your treatment. You get to see the end result before you even start!
Because they’re simple and easy to remove, clear aligners like Invisalign™ should be taken out and stored in their case before you eat. This will prevent any food from getting stuck in the aligner trays. And because aligners can be removed (unlike braces), most snacks and foods can still be eaten safely. We recommend brushing your teeth and rinsing your clear aligners before popping them back in.
